"There is a pleasure in the pathless woods. There is a rapture on the lonely shore. There is a society, where none intrudes. By the deep sea and music in it's roar I love not man the less, but nature more."  — Lord Byron

WELCOME

Wild lilacs, mountain rivers, ocean breezes, pine trees, freshly cut wood, Clubman’s talc are just a few of the smells by which I’m surrounded. Stimulated by their redolence and motivated by creativity, I eventually discovered a way to incorporate my penchant for nature into an artistic expression.
For the last 30 years I’ve traveled the world as a professional makeup artist, working on 40+ feature films. Grease, “10,” Back to the Future, Doc Hollywood, Terms of Endearment, Mars Attacks, People vs. Larry Flynt, (3) Bond films and The Thomas Crown Affair, to name a few. I’ve sailed the Nile, climbed the mountains of Chamonix, circled the Christ statue in Rio, navigated the labyrinth of streets in Cuenca, walked the shores of the Caspian Sea and toured alley street markets of Paris. Whether foraging for old Spanish doors, or chipping paint samples from abandoned French cabins…little did I know I was discovering the world of “wabi-sabi.” - the art of finding unaffected beauty of things as they are.
Add to those experiences an early architectural course, a high school woodshop teacher for an uncle, an addiction to flea markets and salvage yards. I eventually acquired a piece of land in the mountains of Utah and built my first cabin. The challenge of building soon turned a corner and became a recreation, having recently finished my 6th. Like an abandoned barn, they invite us to set aside our pursuit of perfection and learn to appreciate the simple, unaffected beauty of things as they are. Suffice to say, I've found building to provide the perfect balance from carrying a powder puff for a living. Best part? No traffic. Just jump in the truck, hope it starts, call the dog...and providing there aren't any deer (or moose) blocking the driveway.... it’s off to the woods, I go I go.   - Bron
